Lake Junaluska Singers

Join us for the jubilant sounds of the Lake Junaluska Singers. Following the concert, we’ll gather for ice cream in the dining room. Members are asked to sign up to bring a churn of your favorite homemade ice cream. It may be a classic flavor, your creative twist, or something utterly new. Sign up online, in Bible study, or call the church office at 252.4781. Fun prizes will go to the coolest churns! Since 1954, the Lake Junaluska Singers have served as musical ambassadors for Lake Junaluska and The United Methodist Church. With concert repertoire including classical choral music, hymn arrangements, spirituals, and musical comedy, this 16-voice professional ensemble presents seasonal concerts at Lake Junaluska. In addition, the group tours across the country and around the world, sharing God’s love through inspiring music. “The mission of the Lake Junaluska Singers is to be a vocal ensemble that provides inspirational music for concert and worship, performing at the highest level of musical excellence,” explains Dr. Melodie Galloway, Director of the Lake Junaluska Singers. “Each singer has to audition every year, whether returning from a previous season or as a new singer in the group, and this year the competition was greater than ever. I am personally so proud and amazed at how this group has come together.” The Singers’ concert tour will take them throughout churches and other venues throughout the southeast. The concert season at Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center begins July 3 and 4, with Independence Day Celebration concerts, and continues August 3, October 12 and 13, and December 7 and 8. The Lake Junaluska Singers will perform with regional choirs and an orchestra for Handel’s Messiah as well as a separate performance with Voices in the Laurel during their Annual Appalachian Christmas concerts at Lake Junaluska December 7 and 8. Lodging packages are available for all Lake Junaluska Singers concerts.
