From early civilization to the present, cairns (balancing stones) have been created for both practical and meaningful reasons. Often created simply as directional markers pointing the way home or to safety, a cairn is also the symbol of the spirit of friendship and hope. The rock sculptures are built by those who have been down a path, to remember the journey, and to mark the way for others.

What is Trailmarks?
Trail Marks is a ministry model we have created here at First Baptist. Ultimately, the model invites parents, students, and ministers into close collaboration in an effort to provide holistic spiritual formation for the entire faith journey. By working together to achieve shared goals, we believe we can create a partnership for life-long discipleship of our children and youth. The core values of Trail Marks include:
What is the first step?
The first step of Trail Marks is to complete the parent questionnaire. This completely confidential questionnaire provides our ministerial staff with information about how they can best relate to your children. These questions are designed to help establish a baseline for the faith development of our students. You will also be asked to answer questions about your child’s participation in some of the rites of passage related to Christian life as well as the life of our church. You can complete the form electronically here or print off the .pdf version and return it to the church office.
How do we continue the conversation?
Our ministerial staff would highly value the opportunity to sit down with you over a cup of coffee or a meal to talk more about how we can support your family in meeting your personal and spiritual needs. We would love to meet with each family at least once throughout the year. Email us directly here to set up a time:
