Join in the Spring book study of Clint Smith’s How the Word is Passed: A Reckoning with the History of Slavery Across America (2021). In his book, Smith takes us behind the scenes and reveals a history of which many of us are oblivious. “History is never merely bland, objective “facts”; events are remembered and transmitted through interpretation”. How the Word is Passed will shape our understanding. We will read, be led by guest speakers, and discuss Smith’s enlightening presentation.
