FBCA 4.0 Hurricane Florence Relief

FBCA 4.0 – Hurricane Florence Relief, March 21-24

First Baptist Church of Asheville is sending a fourth team to the New Bern area to support recovery from Hurricane Florence. Previous teams have gutted homes, put up sheetrock in churches, and prayed for brothers and sisters still wondering if life can ever get back to normal. Team 4 leaves around noon on Thursday, March 21 and returns in the afternoon on Sunday, March 24. The team will stay at First Baptist Church, New Bern, our partner in these efforts. Of course, participants always have the option of staying in a local hotel. Most meals will be provided.
What will we be doing? Teams are beginning to help with reconstruction of homes and other facilities.
What tools do we need? We can be clearer on tools the closer we get to the trip. We’ll gather some other tools as well for those who do not have them. Pack some good shoes (closed toes) and a really good pair of work gloves.
Do I need to be a skilled carpenter? No. We have skilled people going. Just bring a willingness to dive in and learn.
How do I sign up? Contact Sarah Whitlock the church office at 828.252.4781.
