Justin Addington
Pastor of Music and Worship
The Reverend Dr. Justin Addington joins our church as Pastor of Music and Worship, bringing extensive experience in worship leadership, pastoral ministry, music education, and the performing arts.
A native of Cowpens, South Carolina, Justin’s love for church music began at an early age, playing piano in both his family’s Methodist church and his grandmother’s Baptist church. He graduated from Broome High School before earning cum laude degrees in Music Education and Vocal Performance from Limestone College. He also holds a Master of Church Music in Choral Conducting from Concordia University and a Doctor of Theology in Worship Studies from the Robert E. Webber Institute. He was ordained to the ministry in 2022.
For the past six years, Justin has served as Minister of Music at First Baptist Church of Savannah. Prior to that, he served several Methodist churches in South Carolina and Georgia as a music minister and organist. He is known for his collaborative leadership, strong organizational skills, and deep commitment to pastoral care.
An accomplished conductor, vocalist, organist, and pianist, Justin has led major choral works with orchestra, presented numerous recitals and solo performances, and directed choirs that have performed internationally and at venues including Carnegie Hall. He is also an experienced educator, author, and workshop leader who is passionate about inspiring musicians and congregations alike through meaningful worship.
Justin and his husband, Evan Goetz, share a love for the arts and community life. We are delighted to welcome Rev. Dr. Justin Addington to our church family and look forward to the many ways his leadership and gifts will enrich our worship and ministry together.
