Helene Recovery Efforts

Helene Recovery Volunteer Sign Up

As our community begins the long and slow process of post-Helene recovery FBCA seeks to be a source of healing  and hope, working collaboratively with friends from near and far.

We are working to gather and utilize essential resources including food pantry items, fresh produce, cleaning supplies, clothing, and personal care items. All of these resources will be free and open to our congregation and the community. We have a weekly Free Market on Thursdays from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., open to the whole community, to come shop for clothes, food, supplies, and personal hygiene items (at no cost), and to eat a hot meal around shared tables;. All are welcome to come and get what they need.

Our resources are for the whole community and our volunteer opportunities are open to all.

Helene Volunteer Service Team Sign-Up

There is a tremendously high number of homes in our region that need some type of recovery work. We are partnering with N.C. Baptists on Mission to complete a wide range of jobs, including flooring removal, drywall repair, and painting. No construction experience is necessary to join any of the volunteer teams. Thank you for completing the interest form below if you would like to volunteer.

Our church is partnering with Baptists on Mission and Cooperative Baptist Fellowship in a Helene Recovery hospitality ministry and we are now poised to welcome overnight volunteer groups from various churches and communities. The main volunteer roles are becoming a coordinating host and meal sponsor. To add your name to a growing list of potential volunteers, click on the links below. Or if know someone who would like to bring a team contact Kristen Kirby, listed in the church directory, for more information.
