First Baptist Joins Community Walk

We’re excited to walk with the faith communities of Asheville & Buncombe County. Indeed, we will be joining cities all around our country. Even communities all around the world are joining this walk. Participating with the World Council of Churches’ Church World Service, we will raise funds to fight hunger in 35 countries around the world, as well as our own local community.

Shoes are needed!

Shoes are needed!! We have learned that many of our friends in the downtown community are needing walking shoes. As you may know, they spend much of their day walking from one place to another for meals and other services. Athletic type shoes, not dress shoes, are in high demand. This is true for men and women, and especially for men’s size 11-13. So, check those closets for shoes that have been hiding.

The ongoing pandemic has left pantries empty and friends still hungry. Across this past year, members and friends of FBCA have filled scores of food boxes for our neighbors in need. In January 2021, the church delivered 272 boxes to 74 families in our community....
