How do you feel about your creativity? How is your creativity connected to your faith and life? When has your creativity been dormant, and what has your unused creativity turned into? In this interactive and introspective presentation, artist and pastor Lisle Gwynn Garrity will invite you to reflect on your creativity and how it relates to your spirituality and wholeness. This workshop involves journaling.

September 9: "Creatio Divina"
Come experience a time of contemplation through creativity. This workshop invites participants to draw with oil pastels on a shared canvas, creating a work of beauty together. The process is contemplative and peaceful: you will create in response to a scripture reading, ultimately creating a beautiful mural as a result. This workshop is meant for anyone who wants to create—no skills or experience necessary! Come be refreshed by the creative process and see the beauty we can create together around a shared table.
Bio
Lisle Gwynn Garrity (she/her) is a Pastorist (pastor + artist) and creative entrepreneur seeking to fill the church with more color, paint, mystery, and creativity. She founded A Sanctified Art in 2016 with the dream that art could be used for spiritual formation and nourishment. Ten years later, she continues to lead A Sanctified Art, which now serves a global community of over 5,000 churches with art and resources for worship.

Come experience the joy of making rhythm together! Billy and drumming partner Michele Brigante will introduce West African-style drumming and invite us into an interactive drumming and movement-filled experience.
Bio
Discovering drumming at 18 changed Billy Zanski’s life. After encountering a West African drummer, he dropped everything, left Wisconsin, and traveled to Guinea to study traditional djembe drumming and percussion with local musicians. Billy’s the founder of Skinny Beats Sound Shop on Eagle Street where he leads weekly open drumming circles and immersive sound healing experiences.

Bio
David Gate is a poet, writer and visual artist that hails from London, UK and now resides in the mist of the ancient Blue Ridge Mountains in Asheville, North Carolina.

David’s work can be summed up by the phrase “A Rebellion of Care” – highlighting the importance of looking after ourselves and others and the earth as radical acts in today’s world.

David hand types many of his poems on an old typewriter. “For me the greatest feeling is to create, the second is when what you have created is meaningful to someone else.”
