CENTER FOR FAITH AND LIFE: CONTEMPLATIVE HIKE “LISTENING TO THE OAK TREE”

Saturday, October 31

How can an oak tree root us in our sense of belonging, and strengthen us as we navigate the challenges of life? Led by Heather Swanson, Director of the Center for Faith and Life and Spiritual Director, and framed by the writings of Black theologian and Christian mystic Howard Thurman, this hiking meditation will explore the ways wilderness brings consolation and fosters resilience. Join us for a 1.9-mile hike along a peaceful streamside trail, with moments of silence, reflection, and shared insight.

12 spots available. Cost: $15. Proceeds go to the Center for Faith and Life. Register by Wednesday, October 28 online or by calling the church office. Bring payment (cash or check) to the front desk by this date.
