CENTER FOR FAITH AND LIFE: CONTEMPLATIVE HIKE “Listening to the Oak Tree”

Saturday, October 31

How can an oak tree root us in our sense of belonging, and strengthen us as we navigate the challenges of life?  Join Heather Swanson, Director of the Center for Faith and Life and Spiritual Director, for a hiking meditation along a streamside trail on Warren Wilson trails. Framed by the writings of Black theologian and Christian mystic Howard Thurman, combined with moments of silence and reflection along the way, this contemplative hike will explore the ways wilderness brings consolation and fosters resilience.

Saturday, October 31, from 9–11:30 a.m.  Warren Wilson Trails at Bull Creek Preserve. 1.9 miles. There are 12 spots available.  Cost: $15.  Proceeds go to the Center for Faith and Life.   Register by Wednesday, October 28 online or by calling the church office.  Bring payment (cash or check) to the front desk by this date.
