Lent & Easter 2026

Join us for Lent & Easter

Ash Wednesday Service Wednesday, February 18 6:00 p.m. Sanctuary
Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent. Our worship will include the ancient practice of the imposition of ashes. Ashes are a witness to the power and beauty of our union with Christ and to the daily dying and rising with Christ that this entails. This service will include music, prayers, ashes, Scripture, and a homily by Mack Dennis.

Lenten Vesper Services Wednesdays 6:00 p.m. Chapel
Lenten Vespers series, Of Dust and Stars, invites us into a quiet, candlelit space to reflect on the sacred tension at the heart of Lent. Grounded in the words, “You are dust, and to dust you shall return” (Genesis 3:19), this series reminds us that we are both fragile and radiant—dust that bears God’s light. Through prayer, Scripture, music, and contemplative liturgy, we will explore the mystery of ashes and hope, mortality and resurrection, sorrow and beauty. Lent does not rush to easy answers but gently teaches us how to live within life’s uncertainties, trusting that even now God is present and light is breaking through.

Step away from the noise of daily life and enter this sacred rhythm of reflection and renewal. Our services will be enriched with art from Lauren Wright Pittman, a poem by Jan Richardson, and music from students and teachers of our own Academy for the Arts.

Palm Sunday • Sunday, March 29 • 11:00 a.m. • Sanctuary
At the beginning of Holy Week, we focus on the entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem to shouts of “Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!” Our children’s choir will sing and process with palms as we turn our attention to Jesus’ journey to the cross.

Maundy Thursday  • Thursday, April 2 • 6:00 p.m. • Sanctuary
“Maundy” comes from the Latin word “mandatum” meaning “commandment,” reflecting Jesus’ words, “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another” (John 13:34). Hymns, scriptural meditation, music by the Adult Choir and instrumentalists, and a special observance of the Lord’s Supper inspire worshippers to remember the sacrifice of Christ.

Good Friday Service – Stations of the Cross • Friday, April 3 • Noon • Sacred Garden/Sanctuary
We gather to follow Jesus through the stations of the cross with prayers, scripture readings, and dramatic renderings of his passion.

Easter Worship • Sunday, April 5 • 11:00 a.m. • Sanctuary
We celebrate the resurrection of Jesus with a service of word, table, and music offered by the Adult Choir.
